The Ministry of Consumer, Food and Public Distribution has partnered with CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd, a special purpose body under the Ministry of Electronics and IT, to streamline deliveries rations and strengthen the public distribution system (PDS) in semi-urban areas. and rural areas of the country, according to a CSC statement.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the food and public distribution department and the CSC, to enable ration card services through 3.7 lakh CSCs across the country.
The partnership is expected to benefit over 23.64 crore ration card holders across the country who can now visit their nearest CSC and update their card details, do Aadhaar seedlings, get a copy of their card. , check the ration availability status and register their grievance, he said.
In addition to existing ration card holders, citizens who wish to apply for a new ration card can now also go to their nearest CHC to submit the request.
CSC e-Governance Services India Managing Director Dinesh Tyagi said: âAs a result of our partnership with the Food and Public Distribution Department, our Village Entrepreneurs (VLEs) who run the CSCs will be able to contact those who do not. have no ration cards and help them access the public distribution system and various government free ration programs. In addition, CSC’s online services will also be available at fair-price stores that include PM welfare schemes, G2C services, education and training courses, financial services, payment services. health care and utility bills.
To do this, CSC will undertake training and capacity building of fair-price retailers on the provision of these services, Tyagi added.
