Athletics message regarding the fall 2021 return to campus
We hope you enjoy this post and enjoy a productive, fun and safe summer.
Our return to campus in August is fast approaching. We look forward to returning for safe intercollegiate athletic participation this fall and throughout the year. We are writing to reinforce the requirement that every student who wishes to return to Ithaca College for fall semester courses be fully immunized in time to allow for the completion of the 14 day period. Early returns for fall sports must be counted from their date of arrival (August 10 for football, August 17 for field hockey, soccer, volleyball, August 16 for cross-country, August 18 for tennis and golf), to meet the full vaccination requirement. . Again, Ithaca College requires Covid-19 vaccinations for all students. As student-athletes, we have an exceptional responsibility to the safety of our Bomber family to eliminate the risk of transmission of the virus. Our training and competition activities require us to be in close contact with each other in locker rooms, weight rooms, track and field training rooms, teams, buses, hotel rooms and the refectories without forgetting the practice and the training itself of our sports. It is mandatory to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
For those who are fully vaccinated with proof of your Covid-19 vaccination uploaded to your MYICHEALTH web portal – Thank you!
All questions regarding vaccinations should be directed to:

Message from Ithaca College:
To participate in academic classes and extracurricular opportunities for the 2021-22 academic year, Ithaca College REQUIRES that all enrolled students MUST receive the COVID-19 vaccination series and be fully immunized. This vaccine REQUIREMENT must be met BEFORE a student arrives in Ithaca to move in. No accommodations will be made for students arriving on campus without vaccine documentation submitted to Hammond Health Center or, in limited specific cases, a college approved vaccine exemption on file. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE LOCATION AND / OR ACCESS TO THE CAMPUS FOR FALL COURSES WITHOUT THIS DOCUMENTATION SUBMITTED.
You will not be considered fully immune until 14 days after receiving your FINAL DOSE. YOU MUST RECEIVE BOTH A ‘FIRST’ AND A ‘SECOND’ DOSE OF PFIZER OR MODERNA VACCINE OR THE JOHNSON & JOHNSON SINGLE-DOSE VACCINE AND 14 DAYS MUST ELAP FROM YOUR FINAL VACCINATION IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO MOVE IN AND / OR ACCESS CAMPUS.
To submit your proof of vaccination, you will need to submit your Covid-19 vaccination card information to the web portal for all of your ICHealth related information:
Step 1: Access the myICHealth web portal (either from the apps.ithaca.edu web page – there is a tile called “MYICHEALTH” or by going to the Hammond Health Center website)
Step 2: Log in using the Netpass username and password, then confirm the date of birth.
Step 3: Choose the Medical Authorizations tab from the left menu
Step 4: Choose the COVID vaccine and click on the Update button, then on the Download button to download the vaccination card
Step 5: Enter the vaccine administration date (s) and select the vaccine name from the drop-down menu
Hammond Health Center staff will verify this information and mark it as verified. Due to the number of vaccine cards arriving, this verification may take a few days. Students will be able to confirm that they are COVID-19 vaccine compliant and any other medical compliance for the fall semester by going to the web portal.
Limited exemptions will be allowed for religious or medical reasons. Requests for exemptions will be carefully reviewed by our Medical Director and a committee reviewing these requests.
If you are applying for a medical exemption for the COVID-19 vaccination, be sure to submit documentation from your health care provider that clearly states why you should not be vaccinated due to a medical condition. If this is not submitted with your exemption, your exemption will not be granted and you MUST be vaccinated in order to return to campus this fall.
Proof of vaccination will be part of your pre-participation screening by our sports medicine team.
Thank you for your commitment to excellence and to the safety and health of the IC campus community and the Bomber family.
