In a thrilling NBA encounter, the Washington Wizards pulled off a dramatic 114-113 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, thanks to C.J. McCollum's clutch performance. The game, a nail-biter from start to finish, saw McCollum deliver the game-winning shot with just a second left on the clock, capping off an 18-point night.
But here's where it gets controversial... McCollum wasn't the only hero for the Wizards. Alex Starr and Bub Carrington each contributed 20 points, showcasing the depth and talent within the team.
On the other side, Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 33 points, but their shooting percentage of 41.1% and 16 made 3-pointers out of 39 attempts left something to be desired.
Kevin Porter Jr. and Ryan Rollins also had solid performances for Milwaukee, scoring 19 and 16 points respectively, but it wasn't enough to secure the win.
The game saw its fair share of momentum shifts. After Kyle Kuzma's layup gave the Bucks an 88-86 lead heading into the final quarter, Milwaukee's four turnovers in the first two minutes of the fourth quarter allowed Washington to go on a 13-3 run, taking a 99-91 lead with under 10 minutes remaining.
Milwaukee fought back, with Antetokounmpo's consecutive buckets bringing the game to 107-104 with just over six minutes left. But a brief absence due to a hard fall saw the Bucks struggle offensively, and upon his return, Antetokounmpo's travel call wiped out a potential basket.
Myles Turner's free throw gave Milwaukee a one-point lead with just over a minute remaining, but the Wizards fought back once more, setting up the stage for McCollum's heroics.
So, what do you think? Was it McCollum's clutch performance that won the game, or was it the collective effort of the Wizards' squad? And what about the Bucks' performance - did they have a chance to win it, or were they outplayed? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
