"You might not want to hear this, but the IPL Auction is stirring up quite a buzz!" Next week’s highly anticipated IPL Auction will see twenty Australian players take center stage, with an impressive thirty international talents also vying for contracts in the 19th edition of this glamorous T20 league.
Among the standout names is all-rounder Cameron Green, who is expected to be one of the hottest properties at Tuesday's auction. Other Australian stars such as Steve Smith, Jake Fraser-McGurk, and Spencer Johnson are also set to attract attention from franchises.

In the previous auction, Green fetched an astonishing INR 17.5 crore (approximately AUD 3.15 million), while Fraser-McGurk was signed for INR 9 crore (around AUD 1.65 million) with Delhi. This season, both players have set their base price at the highest tier, which is 2 crore (roughly AUD 340,000).
Due to a new regulation, Green cannot surpass his previous auction price since overseas players are capped at a maximum of INR 18 crore (about AUD 3 million). Nonetheless, he’s still anticipated to secure a substantial payday, potentially reaching that maximum amount.
However, there's been a mix-up that could affect his bid. Green revealed that his manager mistakenly listed him solely as a batter. "I’m ready to bowl as well," Green commented on Sunday, adding a light-hearted note to the situation, "I don’t think my manager would appreciate me saying this, but he accidentally selected 'batter' instead of the all-rounder option when registering. It’s a bit funny how it unfolded, but ultimately it was an error on his part."
In other news, Australian cricket sensation Glenn Maxwell has decided to withdraw his name from this year’s IPL Auction, leaving room for others to shine.
A total of 1,390 players registered for potential selection, yet only 350 will advance to the final shortlist. For those interested, the complete list can be accessed here.
