New this year:
- Ad-Aware 2007, 7.0.2.1 - complete overhaul of the
popular Ad-Aware SE program, so much that it might be considered a "new"
program. Note: The original Ad-Aware SE program is also on this disc.
- CDBurn - A free command line tool from Microsoft
that allows you to burn ISO images to CDs. Even though it's part of
the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools, it can be used on its own.
- iVideoMax v. 3.9 - This program not only converts
a large variety of video formats (including .MOV files that my camera
produces), but it can convert in batch mode. It was well worth the $29.95
to purchase. I haven't found another program that both converts MOV
files and does it in batch mode.
- Links - Added two links to:
- MakeTorrent 2.1 - Creates .torrent files for use
with BitTorrent. This is a complete rewrite of the CompleteDir 1.0.1
application.
- Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack v.3 - File Converter
for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats.
- ProduKey v1.07; x64 build - Recover lost product
key (CD-Key) of Windows/MS-Office/SQL Server. Added: x64 build - for
locally retrieving product keys of x64 versions of Windows.
- Quick Screen Capture 3.0.2 - !Quick Screen Capture
- This screen capture and image editing utility will allow you to capture
any part of the screen with a few mouse clicks and save into BMP/JPG/GIF
formats. It is so handy to insert pictures in email, or make a copy
of something to compare with something else, or just keep a picture
of something for reference.
- RealPlayer 11 Beta (XP & Vista only.) - The free
RealOne Player includes a media player, a music jukebox, and a built-in
media browser for playing a wide variety of streaming media formats
on the Web. This version is for Windows XP and Vista only. Version 10.5
for Win95 though WinXP is still on this disc also.
- Tweak UI v. 2.0 for WinXP Media Center Edition, 2.0
- Version 2.0 for Windows XP Media Center Edition has been added this
year.
- Virtual PC 2007 v 1.0 for XP/Vista - Allows you to
run other operating systems on your computer by creating a "virtual
PC" inside a window. Version 2007 runs on Windows XP, 2003 Server,
and Vista. Version 2004 for other versions of Windows is still on this
disc.
- Virus Fixes - Added three more fixes for:
- Backdoor.Haxdoor.S-Trojan.Schoeberl.E
- W32.Spybot.ACYR
- W32.Spybot.ANDM
- Windows Memory Diagnostic - This program tests the
RAM on your computer and will tell you exactly which memory modules
may be bad. I used this to troubleshoot problems with my Windows XP
computer and was able to tell Gateway exactly what modules to send me
for warranty replacement.
