Adobe - http://www.adobe.com/ - Great products such as PageMill (which I used to create these pages), and Adobe Acrobat (turns anything into a PDF file). Our newsletter is published with Adobe PageMaker. You can also get the free Adobe Acrobat Reader at their site. Please check out the special offers. Adobe sends us ads occasionally to post on our website.

Here are some sites I've ordered things from. (It's great to be able to shop in your jammies!):

Amazon.com - http://www.amazon.com/ - Books, music, videos, software, and all kinds of other goodies. They also have an on-line auction if you can't find what you want in stock. I bid on an out-of-print movie trilogy and won! My husband's going to be so happy when he finds out what I got him for his birthday!

Buy.com - http://www.buy.com/ - I haven't used this myself, but many of our club members love this site. They get the best prices for computers, home electonics and other fun stuff.

CDNOW - http://www.cdnow.com/ - Sells music and video. You can listen to songs off the albums before you buy. They were able to get a rare Christmas album of Alfred Burt carols, which my husband and his family used to listen to when he was a kid. It took 6 months, but CD-Now came through! (Other places I tried to order from gave up after a month of being on back-order).

Fatbrain.com - http://www.fatbrain.com/ - Books. Their slogan is "Because great minds think a lot." If you're looking for technical books, this is the place to visit. Their prices were lower than other places I checked. I had to get a textbook for a course I was going to take at the Learning Tree, and Fatbrain was about $20 less.

FTD.COM - http://www.ftd.com/ - Flowers, plants, and other gifts for delivery. I've used FTD many times and the people I've bought things for have loved what I got them. They have next day delivery. It's great when something comes up unexpectedly (like a birth, or illness) and you can have it delivered quickly.

Department Stores

Here's some common department stores that now have on-line catalogs and ordering (in alphabetical order):

Best Buy - http://www.bestbuy.com/

Office Depot - http://www.officedepot.com/

Radio Shack - http://www.radioshack.com/

Target - http://www.target.com/

Wal-Mart - http://www.walmart.com/
