PUBLIC LINUX INSTALLATION WORKSHOP

Saturday, Oct. 25: Bring your personal computer to the Thousand Oaks Library on Janss Rd. Upon installation, you will leave with Redhat Linux 9.0 & KDE Graphical User Interface (GUI)

INSTALLED and WORKING!

This can include word processing, printing, drawing, scanning, Internet access, and more.

RESERVATIONS ARE MANDATORY! Installation start times are: 10 AM , 12 and 2 PM

Requisites: Hardware Minimums

400-600 MHz CPU
128 MB RAM
4-5 GB of a Partitioned Hard Disk or a dedicated hard disk drive
Video Card with 4 MB of video ram
Ethernet 10/100 Network Interface Card
Monitor, mouse and electrical cables

Preparation: BACK-UP your data before going to the Library! We take NO responsibility for disk drives that die unexpectedly! PARTITION your hard drive if necessary, as there will be no time to do so at the installation workshop.

Directions: From either the 101 or 118, take Fwy. 23 to the Janss Rd. exit. Go East along Janss Rd. to the Thousand Oaks Library sign. Then turn left and follow the road to the right.
